Torres Strait Music reached another peak with Thursday Island based music group Brothers Production wowing fans at their first live performance.

With a musical style best described as progressive new generation dancehall, infused with Torres Strait flair, Brothers Production are a Soundcloud discovery that’s gone viral across Torres Strait households.

Despite being “underground” on the national music scene, the concert venue reached capacity with local fans flocking to the Bowls Club to hear songs such as Red Dress and Party Time.

Brothers Production, made up of Tala Warria (23), Jason Sailor Jnr (25), Richard Sailor (22), Riven Sailor (20), Lukey Mosby (20) and Rahmarn Pearson (20) started as an expressive hobby back when the members were in High School (2014). Today, their music pumps across the Torres Strait, NPA and North Queensland, with each song averaging 20-50k streams on Soundcloud.

Riven Sailor reminisced about their live performance and described it as a defining moment in the group’s musical career.

“All of us love music and enjoy making music, so to be able to perform our songs live was incredible,” shared Riven.

“We still can’t believe it all happened. We are very grateful that the community came to support us and watch us. It was a memorable night.”

The concert was presented by the Joker’s Touch Club Fundraiser and included turntable talents; DJ Jabz and DJ Doogz, who kept the crowd hyped throughout the night.

Brothers Production embarks on their first tour in April 2020, with a live performance scheduled for the Republic Night Club in Cairns. Tickets will go on sale soon.
